The foundation of any AV system is its design. BEL has designed (and redesigned) systems of every size and budget and for almost every conceivable situation. We love a good challenge, and pride ourselves on designing and installing systems that are cutting-edge, functional, and ready to grow with your needs. Our team is well-trained and experienced, and a BEL installation is always neat, clean, and well documented. We believe that no job is complete until we are sure your system is working flawlessly, and that you (and your staff) knows how to use it effectively.
Our trained and certified designers use industry-leading tools for designing systems. We will provide you and your contractors with detailed drawings and specifications, and will oversee the installation of every aspect with the fine detail. We then stand behind it with an On-site Warranty on all installations. Our repair technicians are factory certified and most repair work is performed in-house. When you purchase equipment from us, any loaner equipment required while we service your equipment is FREE!
The Process
1. Consultation
The first step of the process is for us to assess your needs. At this point, equipment you may already have is not considered. We’re problem solvers – and understanding how you need to use audio-visual systems is critical. Some of the best products on the market won’t help if they are the wrong products for the job!
We generally perform a free site survey to gather as much detail as possible to assist with the next step – The Design Phase.
2. Design
Once we have enough information, our team will brainstorm product ideas that best fit your specific problems and needs. At this point, we don’t know if these products will work out in the end. Once we have a complete system sketched out, we will fill in the blanks with a cohesive design. On paper (or digital paper), we’ll be sure that we know about every single wire and connection that needs to be made. Throughout this process, we are actively mindful of how easy your system will be to use. If you already own equipment, we will do our best to integrate it into the new system if we determine the equipment is still a good fit for your needs. We can’t count the number of times we’ve seen great gear installed by others for the wrong application!
3. Proposal
For every proposal, you will receive a written specification of system and product features and project pricing. We will explain each piece of equipment and its role in the system. If for any reason, we need to redesign any aspect of the system, we will do so as required. This is often for budget or form-and-fit reasons. The design often becomes a collaborative effort at this stage. AV system design is a very creative process, and while will will generally present our best design, it isn’t our only design.
4. Installation
The installation phase consists of many moving parts. While we have equipment and materials on order, we will coordinate any on-site work with you and other contractors and trades if required. When possible, we build any equipment racks at our shop. Then, when your site is ready for us, we’ll be there to execute the design. Depending on your project size, this can take anywhere from one day to several, but our installation schedule will be determined and clearly coordinated with you ahead of time.
During this stage, all system programming and tuning is performed as required. Programming is often a collaborate effect to address any preferences along the way.
5. Training
Perhaps our favorite stage of the process is showing you how to use your new system. This is the part where your original problems and goals are finally addressed. More important than any single piece of equipment is ensuring your system is easy to use and that everyone knows how to use it effectively and confidently.
We often break up training into multiple sessions. We don’t expect everyone to absorb all of the information all at once, and we are strong believers in the power of hands-on learning. It is generally not until the second session that you may have operational questions.
6. Service and Support
In our minds, we’re never really done. We encourage all of our clients to stay in touch and keep us informed on how the system is performing and if there are any on-going needs or concerns.
System maintenance is also important to ensure years of optimal service out of your system. We will also communicate product duty cycles so that you can effectively plan for any upgrades that may need to occur.
BEL also offers various levels of Service Agreement contracts. For many clients, our Service Agreements offer piece of mind knowing that their system is regularly inspected for any problems, and that all system software is up to date. Our top tier contracts are all-inclusive of all on-site service, and may include an in-house repair budget.
